Quick Answers

Before you call, the most common questions

For the full list, see the FAQ page.

How fast can you come out?

Usually same week during the May–October season. If you call before noon I can often confirm a next-day slot. Outside business hours I check messages first thing.

How much does it cost?

Every job is different — vehicle, refrigerant type, location, and condition all factor in. I give a clear quote up front so you know before any work starts. In most cases mobile service beats the total cost of a shop visit once you add in tow, transport, and the day or two you’d be without the vehicle.

Do you come to my city?

Yes — JANTECH is based in Vernon, BC. Standard service area (no travel surcharge): Vernon, Coldstream, Armstrong, Kelowna, Lake Country, West Kelowna. Extended area with an additional travel charge: Lumby, Enderby, Falkland. Outlying (call to arrange): Salmon Arm, Sicamous, Penticton, Chase. For fleets, equipment, and vintage I’ll come further — just call.

My mechanic replaced the compressor — do I still need a vacuum?

Yes, every time. A new compressor installation requires deep vacuum evacuation before charging — the moment the system was opened, atmospheric moisture entered, and that moisture destroys the new compressor within one to two years if it’s not removed.

Do you service RVs and motorhomes?

Yes — chassis A/C on an RV is serviced the same as any vehicle. Roof units are a different story (no service ports from the factory) — I can tell you on the phone whether yours can be serviced or should be replaced.

What payment do you take?

Cash, E-Transfer, and credit card via Square. Payment on completion.

Do you service farm equipment?

Yes — tractors, combines, farm trucks, anything with an A/C system. Generator-equipped so grid power isn’t required at the property.

Can you get rid of bad smells in my vehicle?

Yes. Industrial ozone treatment neutralizes mould, mildew, mouse, and smoke odours by reaching into the ventilation system and surfaces cleaning products can’t access. Usually one session, 30 minutes to 2 hours.
