Refrigerant Recovery
Refrigerant recovery is the legally required process of removing refrigerant from a system before it is opened for repair. In Canada, venting refrigerant to atmosphere is illegal under the Environmental Protection Act. JANTECH holds HRAI SCDD certification, which meets federal requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.

Refrigerant Recovery
What we recover
We recover refrigerant from passenger cars, trucks, SUVs, RVs, motorhomes, marine vessels, ATVs, and agricultural and commercial equipment. We also handle residential and commercial appliances. If it has a refrigerant circuit, we can recover it.
Refrigerant types
We work with R134a (most vehicles manufactured before ~2017), R1234yf (most newer vehicles), R22 (older HVAC and appliances), and other common refrigerants. Different refrigerants require different recovery equipment and cannot be mixed. We keep them separated and disposed of through compliant channels.
Why certification matters
HRAI SCDD certification is required by law in Canada to purchase or handle refrigerants. A shop or individual handling refrigerant without certification is operating illegally — and won't have access to quality commercial-grade refrigerant. Our certification is current and meets federal standards.
