What We Do

Mobile vehicle A/C service in Vernon, BC and the Okanagan region. Every service is performed by a licensed, certified technician with professional equipment.

A Specific Case

Was your problem already fixed by a shop, but the air is still warm?

It's the call I get most often in July. Usually means a missed leak, a shallow vacuum, or a guessed charge. Call (250) 351-6766 and I'll tell you what the shop did and what I'd do differently.

🚐
We Come To You
Your driveway, shop, farm, or job site. No tow truck. No drop-off and pickup.
⏱️
No Vehicle Downtime
Fix on-site and drive away. No days without your vehicle waiting for a shop.
💰
Better Total Value
Saved transport, towing, and lost-time costs typically beat shop pricing.
Charges for Service — Contact for Quote

Every job is different — vehicle make, refrigerant type (R134a vs R1234yf), system condition, and your location all factor in. Rather than post numbers that won't match your situation, we'll give you a clear, no-pressure quote in a quick phone call or text. Call 250.351.6766 or use the contact form.

Full Service Menu

Every service we offer, in detail. For the curious or the specialist.

Post-Repair Final Step Package

Most Requested

The complete procedure for any vehicle whose A/C system has been opened for repairs. This is the service that protects your investment in new parts.

Note: Skipping this step after a repair means moisture contamination almost certainly entered the system. Moisture turns acidic in refrigerant oil and can destroy a new compressor within 1–2 years. Witness capping (paint applied to caps after service) documents that all fittings were properly sealed — intact paint on a warranty claim confirms the system was not opened after JANTECH completed the work.
Learn more
Includes
  • Nitrogen dry pressure test & decay verification
  • Deep vacuum evacuation (target ≤1000 microns)
  • Vacuum decay hold test — confirms no leaks
  • Refrigerant charge by manufacturer-specified weight
  • Electronic refrigerant leak detection (post-charge)
  • Witness capping — paint applied to all service ports and fittings
  • Recorded graphed system pressure data (emailed to you)

Nitrogen Pressure Decay Testing

Dry nitrogen is introduced to the system and allowed to stabilize. A pressure decay test confirms the system holds — before any refrigerant is used.

Note: Always performed before vacuum and charge. Refrigerant is far too expensive to waste charging a leaking system.
Learn more
Includes
  • System pressurized with dry nitrogen
  • Pressure decay timed and recorded
  • Leak location assistance if decay detected

System Vacuum Evacuation

Professional two-stage vacuum evacuation to remove moisture, air, and non-condensable gases from the system.

Note: Vacuum is measured in microns — not just "pulled for 30 minutes." We use Fieldpiece SMAN equipment with a built-in micron gauge to verify the target is reached and held.
Learn more
Includes
  • Deep vacuum to ≤1000 microns
  • Micron gauge monitoring throughout
  • Decay hold test to verify system integrity

Refrigerant Charging by Weight

Refrigerant loaded to manufacturer specification by weight on calibrated digital scales.

Note: Charging by sight glass or "feel" is guessing. Your vehicle's A/C was engineered for an exact refrigerant weight. Under or over-charging both affect performance and compressor life.
Learn more
Includes
  • Manufacturer charge weight looked up per vehicle
  • Refrigerant loaded on calibrated digital scales
  • System performance verification after charge

Oil Condition Testing (Non-Invasive)

Unique capability: testing the refrigerant oil condition on an operating system without opening it or disrupting refrigerant charge.

Note: Ideal for a vehicle with "mystery" A/C problems — poor cooling that could be moisture contamination, early compressor failure, or both. Know before you spend.
Learn more
Includes
  • Oil sample extracted without opening system
  • Visual and instrument analysis
  • Report on contamination level and compressor health indicator

Electronic Refrigerant Leak Detection

Electronic leak detection using a calibrated detector sensitive to refrigerant compounds.

Learn more
Includes
  • Full system scan — fittings, hoses, components
  • Leak location pinpointed
  • Documentation of leak location for repair

Refrigerant Recovery

Compliant recovery of refrigerant from vehicle A/C systems and appliances, performed by HRAI-certified technician.

Learn more
Includes
  • Recovery from cars, trucks, RVs, marine, ATVs, and agricultural equipment
  • Recovery from residential and commercial appliances
  • R134a, R1234yf, R22, and other refrigerants
  • HRAI compliant — legally required in Canada

Low Refrigerant Diagnostics

System is low on refrigerant — but where did it go? We diagnose whether the loss is a slow leak, rapid leak, or something else before topping it up.

Learn more
Includes
  • Pressure testing and leak scan
  • Recovery of remaining charge if required
  • Leak documentation
  • Charge restoration after repair

A/C Hose Crimping

Hose crimping is available on a case-by-case basis. Due to the wide variety of crimp fittings across manufacturers, an assessment visit is required before any work is scheduled.

Note: Because fitting styles vary widely by manufacturer, we need to see the piece in person before committing to a job. A meet-up or drop-off arrangement may be possible — call to discuss your situation.
Learn more
Includes
  • On-site assessment to identify correct fitting type
  • Hose fabrication if correct parts are on hand
  • Parts sourcing from Kelowna if required (additional travel cost)

Condenser & Evaporator Cleaning

An A/C system that works but underperforms is often caused by a fouled condenser or evaporator. Cleaning with a foaming agent restores airflow and heat exchange efficiency without replacing parts.

Note: For RV roof air units — if the system is running but not cooling well, a condenser inspection and clean is typically the first step. This requires removing the top cover of the roof unit. Roof units do not have refrigerant service ports and are not designed to be refrigerant-serviced; they are replaced as a unit when they fail. However, brazing in service ports is possible if the customer wants to go that route.
Learn more
Includes
  • Foaming agent applied to condenser or evaporator coils
  • Fan operation verified
  • Applicable to vehicles, equipment, and accessible RV roof units (top cover removal required)

Odour Treatment — Ozone Generator

Persistent vehicle odours from mice, mildew, smoke, or other sources can be neutralized using an industrial ozone generator. Ozone reaches areas that cleaning products can't.

Note: The vehicle must be unoccupied during treatment. Most odour issues are resolved in one session. Severe infestations may require physical cleaning first to remove the source before ozone treatment.
Learn more
Includes
  • Industrial ozone generator placed inside vehicle
  • Treatment time 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on severity
  • Effective against mice, mildew, smoke, and general odours

Infrared Camera Inspection

Industrial infrared camera used to visually identify temperature anomalies in A/C lines and components — helping locate problem areas before they become expensive failures.

Note: Infrared inspection is a diagnostic tool — it identifies suspect areas for further investigation, not a substitute for pressure testing or oil analysis. Best used when a problem is suspected but not yet confirmed.
Learn more
Includes
  • Thermal imaging of accessible A/C lines and components
  • Temperature differential analysis
  • Visual documentation of findings

R134a Retrofit

Retrofit of older vehicles from R12 to R134a refrigerant, including system flush, oil change, and component assessment.

Learn more
Includes
  • R12 recovery (compliant disposal)
  • System flush and desiccant replacement
  • Retrofitted fittings installation
  • R134a charge to adapted specification

Remote Site Service

Full A/C service at locations with no grid power. Generator-equipped for farms, remote properties, job sites, and off-grid locations.

Note: Remote site service is available at an increased rate to account for generator fuel, additional travel, and logistics. Call to discuss your location.
Learn more
Includes
  • Generator-powered equipment operation
  • All standard services available
  • Travel to remote Okanagan locations

Service Documentation & Warranty Notice

Documentation

Every service is documented with pressure graphs, charge weights, vacuum readings, and inspection records — emailed to you on completion. This paperwork is your proof of proper installation.

Compressor Warranty

For compressor warranty claims, witness paint applied at the time of service must be intact, confirming the system was not opened or disturbed after JANTECH's work. Warranty eligibility is assessed in part on documented installation procedure.

Limitation of Liability

JANTECH Mobile Services is not responsible for component failures caused by pre-existing conditions, contamination introduced after service, third-party repairs, or damage unrelated to the refrigerant service performed.

All services performed in compliance with Canadian refrigerant handling regulations. HRAI certified technician. Serving Vernon, BC and the Okanagan region.
