A/C Service — Vernon, BC

Post-Repair A/C Final Step Package

The complete procedure for any vehicle whose A/C system has been opened for repairs. This is the service that protects your investment in new parts — whether you replaced a compressor, condenser, evaporator, or hose. Skipping this step is the number one reason replacement compressors fail within one to two years.

Post-Repair Final Step Package

Why this package exists

A/C systems are sealed and dry for a reason. The moment a component is opened, atmospheric air and moisture enter. That moisture reacts with refrigerant oil under operating heat and pressure to form organic acids that attack compressor internals. A new compressor failing within two years almost always traces back to moisture contamination — typically from an A/C repair that wasn't properly finished.

What's included

Nitrogen dry pressure test to confirm no leaks before evacuation. Deep vacuum evacuation to ≤1000 microns, measured with a micron gauge, not estimated. Vacuum decay hold test to confirm the system is sealed. Refrigerant charge by manufacturer-specified weight on calibrated scales. Electronic leak detection after charge. Graphed pressure data emailed to you for your records.

Who performs the repair?

We don't perform the mechanical A/C repair itself (compressor replacement, condenser, etc.) — that's your mechanic's job. We are the final step after the repair is complete. Many shops call us in to finish the job properly because they don't have the right equipment to measure vacuum in microns or charge accurately by weight.

Common Questions

Does my mechanic need to be present?
No. We can coordinate directly with you or with the shop. The vehicle needs to be mechanically complete with all A/C components installed and fittings capped — we handle everything from that point forward.
How long does the post-repair package take?
Typically 1.5 to 2.5 hours for a standard passenger vehicle. Larger systems take longer. You pay for actual time — no flat-rate padding.
What if the nitrogen test finds a leak?
We stop and inform you. There's no point vacuum-evacuating or charging a leaking system. We document the leak location and you can return the vehicle to the mechanic for repair before we proceed.
